Our beloved former politicians seem to have finally noticed what has been obvious to the population for a very long time: "Australia is now the only Western country without legislated protection of human rights." Former prime minister Fraser says 'common law does not protect the normal rights of Australians, and the new anti-terrorism laws threaten liberties that people take for granted' - but where was the concern for rights when he held office and the power in the senate to do something about it?
