A comment piece in The Age discusses a rarely-used but currently significant word: decivilisation. The writer defines it as "the process [...] by which people cease to be civilised and become barbaric." A worthwhile and rational exposition, describing 'the advancing shadow of a new [...] barbarism' and observing 'The Big Easy shows us the Big Difficult' - without undue emphasis on Islam or terrorism.
