The CSM has an article on "terrorist" ideology, which quotes the very interesting observation that Jihad as an "ideology is a kind of software that can be installed in certain people's minds". A techno-mechanical view of psychology, that also gives rise to the potential view that if this proposition is true, then so too is western capitalism a similar "program", (with advertising and the media being the installation package.) The definition of "certain people" is not explored except to infer that they are perhaps "young Muslim men" - a notion that is conveniently exclusive. Comments:
