Between prayer and detention lies a lifetime The CM reports a very strange statement from the commissioner of London's Metropolitan Police, who wants an extension of detention times in the UK, and complains that two weeks were "not enough time to question terror suspects and follow up on leads": "Fourteen days does not allow for some of the things that we have to do in these kind of investigations. You've got encrypted computers; it takes a long time...We have to travel abroad. We have to give everybody rest, we have to have lots of time for prayer ... We've just got to be 21st century about all of this.""Lots of time for prayer" - in "terrorism" investigations? Notable this quote does not appear at this time in searches of any other news sites, either. A nexus between prayer and detention of suspects is frankly, bizarre. Comments:
