A better ideology for the Toxic Texan

Article in The Australian reveals there are "500,000 embryos stored in liquid nitrogen throughout the US"; while their President says there "is no such thing as a spare embryo", how do you balance a "cryo-preserved" generation against the 500,000 African children who will die of a treatable illness like malaria this year? The ability of Americans to see the cost of maintaining these morbidly frozen embryos as sustainable, compared to African infant mortality, leaves critics plenty of room to promote the conclusion that western politics is a factory for meaningless phrases:

"I know the only way to defeat this ideology is with a better ideology, based upon freedom and human rights and dignity - human dignity"

said President Bush in the same week as action on climate change was reduced by his administration to a "vague statement of intention".
