A report on "Nonlethal Weapons: Terms and References" from the Institute for National Security Studies (via The Memory Hole) lists dozens of "nonlethal weapons" in categories including acoustics, biotechnicals, electromagnetics, entanglers, holograms, and reactants. It is several years old so probably won't have all of the latest devices - but the glossary alone is of interest. It's also a case study in making dangerous technology palatable to the public. Particularly take a thoughtful look at the "Bio-technicals". Comments:
