Blah-blah-blogging (and duh-duh-distorting) The observational powers of the minions of Murdoch's empire are sharp as ever: the Boston affiliate of America's Fox TV network last month ran a news item about a "new craze" sweeping cyberspace: blogging. Or as their "reporter" describes it, "just blah-blah-blogging". Such cynicism in the face of an increasingly influential medium has the atmosphere of dust clinging to the remains of imperial obsolesence. Or perhaps it is fear that the flogged-to-death corpse of the mass-media advertising dollar has gathered its bones and is on the road to newer, smarter, forms of expression. Flattering oneself by blackening the reputation of one's competitors is a tactic that the Murdoch press and it's political affiliates know only too well. Comments:
