The Search for a Chant Laureate

The English obsession with soccer and terrace chants has led to the search for a Chant Laureate. The Bard will apparently be paid to use insight, humour, observation, rhyme and the notional ability to avoid obscenity, to inspire the terraces with their verse. I strongly suspect that the quality of this verse will not a Shakespeare make. Still, its one of the few recognitions of the place of the dying art of poetry in society, even if its sport-driven.
